Anxiety - The A to Z of Hypnotherapy
“I can’t cope”, "Something bad is about to happen” & “Nothing that I do will ever be good enough”, all things that people with anxiety have said and if you are living with anxiety, it can be very hard to imagine anything in your future going well. You are not alone in thinking like this, anxiety is by far the most common thing that I help people with as a hypnotherapist.
Now, you may have heard people saying, 'You just need to think more positively' and whilst they probably mean well, as you know, it's not as simple as that.
Here's why; there are two parts to your brain (if we really simplify it). The first part is the intellectual brain; this part is responsible for your creativity, for your positive thoughts and resourcefulness. The second part is the primitive brain; this part is your survival brain and the part of your brain that you will be predominantly using if you are suffering from anxiety. This part looks out for danger or anything that could be perceived as a threat, which is great if you are out in the wild with bears and tigers lurking around every corner. However, it's not so good in your day-to-day life around Sussex.
The primitive brain will always see things from the worst case scenario and if you think about it, it has to for your survival. However, it is usually balanced out by the more optimistic intellectual brain which makes a proper assessment of the situation and realises that in most cases, you are perfectly safe. Anxiety comes from when you are stuck using the pessimistic, primitive brain too much. The good news is that it doesn't have to stay this way.
Our brains have something called 'Neuro-plasticity', which basically means that it can be flexible and it can be rewired to work differently; in this case, to work positively for you.
Here is where the techniques that I have can make very powerful changes! Using hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and NLP, we can change the way that you think in a matter of weeks to allow the two parts of your brain to work in sync with each other and to give you a more relaxed and quieter mind.
Here's what Lee from Peacehaven had to say about the therapy that he received for his anxiety & depression.
And this is what Mark had to say about how hypnotherapy helped him to regain control of his life.
